Gulzar commenced at La Trobe University in 2019 as a senior lecturer in nursing. Prior to her current appointment, she worked as a Lecturer at Monash University since 2014. She is a highly experienced registered nurse who has more than 20 years of nursing experience in a various health care settings both in Australia and overseas. She has strong clinical and educational background in acute and critical care nursing in particular cardio-thoracic. Before stepping into higher education, Gulzar has worked for a few years in clinical education. She was former lecturer at LaTrobe University and also worked as a sessional academic at Deakin University. Her interest towards research and scholarly writing has led her to undertake PhD studies from Monash University. She has examined how evidence-based practice concepts are integrated into undergraduate nurse education across Australian universities.
