Biography:
Dr Mercy Kokuro is a Ghanaian Registered Nurse, a Nurse Educator and the Vice Principal who also doubles to be the Head of Academics for the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Kwapong in the Ahafo region of Ghana. Dr Mercy Kokuro completed Nursing Training College, Kumasi, Ghana in the year 2002 and worked in a government hospital in Ghana for 4 years where she was awarded the best nurse in 2005. She completed bachelor’s in Nursing at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2010 and obtained postgraduate diploma in Education from the University of Education-Winneba (UEW) in Ghana in 2014. She obtained her Master of Nursing program certificate in 2017and PhD in Nursing Science in 2024, all from Stellenbosch University, Cape Town, South Africa. After her PhD, she obtained an award as a postdoctoral (ConsoliDoc) research fellow with Department of Nursing and Midwifery, Stellenbosch University, Cape Town, South Africa from January to June 2025. She has 23 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, inclusive of 15 years teaching experience. Dr Kokuro is a member of good standing with Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) and Nurse and Midwife Educators Society -Ghana (NMES-GH). Internationally, she is also a member of Honour Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International as a member of Chi Omicron at- Large Chapter and Canadian Alliance of Nurse Educators Using Simulation.
