Community Health Nursing at Nursing 2027

Part of the Nursing 2027 scientific programme · Village Hotel Changi, Singapore · March 15–17, 2027

About the Community Health Nursing Session

The goal of community health nursing, a rapidly expanding nursing discipline, is to enhance the health and wellbeing of people living in a particular region. Rural areas are becoming more and more dependent on building a robust network of community health nurses due to the general scarcity of doctors and healthcare providers. In rural areas, where there are often nurse and healthcare provider shortages as well as higher prevalence of chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease, community health nurses play an important role in maintaining the health of local populations across the country. They oversee the delivery of acute treatment and preventative services and aid rural community members in managing these chronic illnesses. They guarantee that neighbourhood residents have access to the treatment and knowledge required to avoid illness and disease, as well as the local implementation of public health programmes. Community health nurses have devoted a lot of time and effort to educating locals about the best ways to prevent infection and minimise transmission during the epidemic. Additionally, they have planned immunisation clinics and outreach activities for education.
