A form of research approach used to explore people's lived experiences in a particular scenario or environment is called qualitative research in nursing. In order to comprehend the underlying phenomena being examined, qualitative research is utilised to understand the viewpoints, beliefs, and attitudes of people. Participant observation, focus groups, and interviews are examples of qualitative research techniques. In nursing, qualitative research is frequently used to investigate issues including patient experiences, professional practise, and interactions between patients and providers. In nursing, this kind of research is crucial because it offers a thorough knowledge of people's experiences and may be used to guide practise, policies, and interventions. In nursing science, qualitative research plays a significant role and is gaining popularity. The lived experiences of patients and nurses are a major focus of nursing research. Qualitative research has exposed some of the processes that individuals with chronic illnesses go through and what it means to live with a chronic disease in the field of chronic illness. Additionally, fresh perspectives on the procedures involved in receiving and providing treatment were developed. Nurses gained knowledge of patients' lived experiences via qualitative study on chronic disease. Good nursing care requires having this insight. But qualitative research is not the only approach, and it may not even be the best approach for some nursing-related issues. Quantitative and qualitative research complement one another.
